HEY SPIRIT SQUAD LET’S GET LOUD!
I can’t even begin to explain how energetic and passionate you have to be in order to be a powerhouse cheerleader.
Just to give you a little background, after coaching many cheerleaders through their tryouts for years, I followed my own training and made the Utah State University Spirit Squad as the mascot Big Blue.
You can trust me when I say, I know how physically and mentally demanding this sport can be!
That’s why your mindset needs to be just as on point as your physical training. You need to develop real self-confidence, and mental resilience, to be able to perform at the next level and develop new abilities.
Look, I know what works and what is a waste of time when it comes to stretching, tumbling, and conditioning.
I try to coach not only to train you on the most efficient exercises and styles of conditioning, made 100% for cheerleading, but also ingrain confidence, and the mental durability it takes to perform confidently in front of crowds, and stay level-headed when things don’t go as planned.
Have you ever been in the position where a lift was not able to get up in time, a teammates’ choreography was off, or someone was dropped in a stunt during a performance? Me too. It takes hours of training to be physically prepared for performances, but it takes, even more, to be mentally strong enough to perform past these imperfections and mishaps that come with this sport.
Having complete trust in your abilities and your teammates takes time. Confidence must be practiced and secured before the performance or game. But I can help you see how powerful you are, build trust in your skillset, and continue to push your limits as an athlete.
