What is the most incredible dance you’ve ever witnessed? Who is you your favorite dancer and why? If yours are anything like mine, I guarantee it’s because of the amazing acrobatics they added to the dance along with their beautiful choreography.
Tumbling and acrobatics are what take dancing to an incredible level. Dance is lovely to watch, and is such a pretty art form. The dancers that are able to separate themselves apart from the others are those that are able to add difficult flips and leaps into their choreography
Chances are you’ve had a tumbling coach teach you a thing or two, but when it comes to dancing you need to routinely be up to date on your tumbling fundamentals in order to compete and train properly.
I teach the fundamentals of all different aerials, flips and conditioning specifically for your dance style. Including (but NOT LIMITED TOO):
- Side aerials
- Front and back aerials
When was the last time those coaches taught you how to take a Jazz aerial and turn it into a hip-hop move? There are more ways to tweak tumbling skills to fit them into every style of dance you’ll try, then you’ve ever thought of. Turning a back handspring into a 180 pike splat takes very specific and technical training, but with the right coach, it becomes so much easier.
Let me ask you another question. Do you think running laps strengthens your dance performance?
Honestly, you get enough cardio just practicing dance, that running is ultimately inadequate as a conditioning routine. What you need are specific exercises that will strengthen your muscles, not just your lungs, so that you can leap higher, turn faster, and tumble stronger.
- Squat pulses
- Duck walks
- Calf leaps/kicks
- HIIT core
- Jumping lunges
Just to name a few…
I’ve seen and trained good dancers, and I’ve seen and trained incredible dancers. And you want to know what the difference between them was? How hard they were willing to work on the extra stuff like conditioning, technique, and tumbling that happen outside of ordinary practices. I’ve helped many dancers see the potential they contained, and just how far they could go with the correct instruction. But don’t just take my word for it…
THOMAS IS THE BEST!! He has pushed me to do things I never thought I’d be able to do! And along with pushing me, he had faith in me that I could do i️t! He’s a very kind human being and is just as excited as you when you accomplish something you’ve been working on. He gives you workouts that are specifically meant to help you and what you are trying to achieve. Thomas is the best tumbling coach I’ve ever had! For over a year I worked with a different coach trying to get my right and left aerial. I had zero tumbling experience and so this was difficult for me. After this year and not achieving anything, I switched to have Thomas be my coach. Within weeks I was able to do my right and left aerials on my own on hard floor! He then helped me with my front aerial, back handspring, and back tuck. I truly believe Thomas helped me do that and not only because he is a GREAT tumbler & coach, but he believed that I could do i️t.
