These clinics are not like any clinics you’ve held or seen before. There won’t be any generic basic tumbling to a group setting. These clinics are designed to bring very specific results, for example aerials are a necessity but a common struggle for many dance teams. Instead of just having someone, an “expert”, come in and practice aerials over and over and over again, these clinics will go into detailed stretches, conditioning, tips and techniques for each individual on the team, rather than just basic information for the group as a whole.
- Advanced Stretching Techniques - Going through the most important stretching positions for aerials, handsprings, and other basic tumbling maneuvers, used by gymnasts that actually improve tumbling ability.
- Fundamental Tumbling Training- Breaking down tumbling moves to the simplest form so that individuals will have the ability to accomplish the tumbling skill much quicker on their own, without always relying on a spotter to assist them.
- Specialized Conditioning - Running laps, doing push-ups, sit-ups, and planks is not the most effective way to improve your tumbling. Instead, I use precise movements and exercises that I’ve personally tried and tested over the last 10+ years of coaching and performing, that improves performance better than anything else.
These clinics are about more than just learning to tumble and getting stronger, they are about building confidence, and knowing how to coach yourself when no one’s around. Throughout the entire clinic I instill confidence in the artists and athletes so that they always know that their success is in their hands. I teach them to recognize what they need to improve on, so they are able to coach themselves to the extent possible. Enthusiasm and confidence will be the foundation built, so that when I am gone, they still have the drive, ability, and knowledge to succeed in their tumbling and fitness pursuits.
